    1. [MALONE-L] The children of Edward Malone (1806-1887) and Zilpha Warren
    2. Mark Seib
    3. You are right when you said Edward was a ladies' man. I have been researching the Malone line for 5 years and found that Edward had two daughters by a Miss Zilpha Warren - Angelletta Warren (b1838), who married a Garner, and my grandmother Elizabeth Warren, who married a Doctor C Garrett in 1860 in Wayne Cty. (This is Elizabeth Garrett in Edward Malone's will in 1887) She moved to Casey Cty, KY where she had a large family before she died in 1898. She had a middle name thought to be "Maloney". Also, to those of you out there who are related to the Zilpha Warner who died in New Castle, IN, in 1986, you now know where her name really came from!! My Zilpha Warren (1812-1851) is almost certainly a daughter of Reuben Warren who lived in Wayne Cty for many years in the early 1800s. Would be happy to share other info if other people are interested. Dont know about Tempe Garner relationship. es081005@hotmail.com Mark _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

Since George is listed as William's nephew in 1900 & 1910 and his last name is still listed as Bryan, I would assume that he is probably the son of one of William's brothers. More About GEORGE W. He had been in a wreck about 5 miles east of Tipton in Dec 1936 and he never recovered. She came up to see him and then aft he died she decided to stay. Aft he died in April she went back to KY to bury him and then returned to live in IN. Ode said she sold the land in KY because Art wanted his share of the estate. After she returned to IN she lived the remainder of her life in the Atlanta, Hobbs, & Windfall areas. When she got older she lived in Cicero for a couple of years and then moved back to Atlanta. Her son William Beckum lived with her all his life. He had a form of epilepsy. I have a picture of her and John when they got married, also a picture of her with her father and some of the other Garners. From talking to Millie, William Mikel, and Alice, Laura, & Pearl Marcum (3 daughters of John), he was very good at building and making things. In the Graham house which was just down the road on the east side he had built 3 fireplaces in the house and had tied all of them into one chimney. He also built a weaving loom. John drove a wagon to OK and brought back the children of his sister Matilda aft her and her husband had died. Bill & Dorothy Mikel said they bought the Marcum house and land (about 72 acres) for $2000. The Mikel's current house was built only 10-15 feet away from where the old Marcum house used to stand. The Marcum house only had 2 rooms in it accord to the Mikels. They also bought the 100 acres of Marcum land that was directly across the road from them and led to where Lake Cumberland is currently. It is only about a 10 minute walk to the lake. I have a picture of John & Nova when they got married. I also have a copy of a picture of John taken about 1897. Marcum, Graham, Snow, and Garner all lived within a few miles of each other. In a deed dated Jan 3 1945 all of the surviving children and spouses are named. I have a picture of him and his second wife along with other members of the Garner family. The following info was given to me by Millie (Garner) Perdue, (daughter of Edward) : 1). Frank Garner was born about two years before Edward & Sally were married, 2). When Edward Garner died his grandsons, Art & Ode Marcum, were in jail and the sheriff had to escort them to the funeral, 3). Ed Garner was a very good looking man, 4.) Ed Garner said he raised 12 children and that his daughter Nova was the only one he couldn't control. I have a copy of his personal estate sale on Mar 20,1935 and a copy of the bill of sales for the estate. Edward's mother and father were never married but Millie (Garner) Perdue said that he acknowledged that his father was Edward Malone and that he was named after him. 3. I am forwarding this to the list on behalf of David Malone. Please direct all questions and comments to him at tim.s@fuse.net David got permission from the author, Ken Marcum, for us to post the following info to MALONE-L. Sincerely, Nikki Simmons nsimmons@mid-mo.net Descendants of Edward Malone Generation No. 1 1. EDWARD3 MALONE (JOHN2 MALONEY, MALONEY1) was born Abt. 1806 in TN, and died Abt. March 1887 in Wayne Co KY. He met TEMPIA GARNER, daughter of HENRY GARNER and POLLY. She was born May 05, 1823 in TN (see notes), and died November 04, 1898 in Wayne Co KY. Notes for EDWARD MALONE: In his will dated Mar 28,1887 in Wayne Co KY he names all three Garner children as well as some others who might have been his since he was known to be a ladies man. Millie (Garner) Perdue & Alice (Marcum) Poe acknowledge that Edward Garner's middle name was Malone and that he called Edward Malone "Dad". He was the surety on at least three marriages of Sara Horsey's children. They are all mentioned in his will. He was surety on the marriages of James or John Collins & Arthursa (sp) Luster, William Harison Garner & Angeletta Warren, Calvin C. Hughes & Martha Ann Horsey, Edward Luster & Lavina Horsey. I believe that there is a connection between Tempia Garner and William Harrison Garner, but I am not sure exactly what it is. William (DOB about 1830) and Angeletta (DOB about 1838) are in Wayne County in the 1860 census and in Russell in the 1870 (page 184). The 1875 Russell County Birth Records has the birth of a daughter for William & Angeletta. In the Wayne Co 1834 delinquent tax list there is an Edmund Malone who moved to Russell Co KY. In the 1830 & 1840 he appears to have children living with him. I do not know the names of who they might be. Could he have possibly been married? In Washington Co TN marriage record there is an Edward Malon (sp) marrying a Margaret Castiel on Sept 10,1821. I am not sure if this could possibly be a connection or not. In the 1880 census there is a woman named Lila Savage living with him. I believe that her maiden name was possibly Delilah Power. She is listed as divorced. The info about Edward's parents comes from the pension application of his mother. More About EDWARD MALONE: Census 1: 1830, Wayne Co KY Census 2: 1840, Wayne Co KY Census 3: 1850, Wayne Co KY Census 4: 1860, Wayne Co KY Census 5: 1870, Wayne Co KY Census 6: 1880, Wayne Co KY Occupation: farmer Notes for TEMPIA GARNER: Tempia and her daughter-in-law, Sally, died on the same day and in the same house. I believe that Tempia is connected with the older Henry Garner who lived in the Clinton/Wayne Co area. Tempia was not a common name but it appears 2-3 times connected with the Garners. She was never married. Since her father was listed in the 1820 Wayne Co census, her place of birth may be questionable. More About TEMPIA GARNER: Burial: Stop Cemetery, Wayne Co Ky Census 1: 1860, Clinton Co KY Census 2: 1870, Clinton Co KY Census 3: 1880, Clinton Co KY Tombstone: picture of tombstone Children of EDWARD MALONE and TEMPIA GARNER are: 2. i. Notes for WILLIAM W. GARNER: The parents of William & Sareptia were only living three families apart in the 1870 census. I believe that William died between 1880, when he was listed in the census, and February 1887. When his father Ed Malone made out his will in February 1887, William was not listed. KITTURA JANE4 GARNER (EDWARD3 MALONE, JOHN2 MALONEY, MALONEY1) was born March 08, 1849 in Clinton Co KY (see notes), and died August 14, 1935 in Stop, Wayne Co KY. She married WILLIAM J. GUFFEY October 16, 1866 in Clinton Co KY, son of WILLIAM GUFFEY and MARTHA BARNES. He was born May 01, 1849 in KY, and died April 29, 1918. Notes for KITTURA JANE GARNER: Kittura's tombstone has DOB listed as Mar 8,1849 but on her death certificate the DOB is listed as Mar 20,1849. The 1900 census lists her DOB as 1849. In 1920 she is living with her son Isaac Guffey. The 1900 census lists her as mother of 12. On the marriage record of her son Edward, her maiden name is listed as Kittura Malone. (2) MARTHA J. BURRIS, January 04, 1900, Clinton Co KY; b. January 19, 1882, KY (see notes); d. November 24, 1954, probably Wayne/Clinton Co KY. Notes for WILLIAM MANNIN GUFFEY: A lot of the info about his children is from his daughter Della's obituary. In the 1900 census Martha must be William's second wife because she is only eighteen and he has three children nine and under. When I was there in June of 1996 the markers for William and Martha appear to be new. In the 1977 Coffey book on Wayne Co Cemetery it just has the dates 1869-1959 for William. His daughter Della's obituary has her as being born in Russell Co. I have a picture of William and Martha along with 5 children in his scrapbook. I am not sure which marriage the children are from. In the 1903-04 Russell Co Birth Records there is a daughter born September 10 to William and Martha. It appears that they moved from Wayne to Russell after the 1900 census and before the birth of their daughter Mary. She was born Abt. 1778 in TN, and died Aft. 1850. Notes for DAVID MALONEY: David was listed in Robert Blakely's pension application as being a brother to John Maloney. In 1852 he was 74 years old and living in Rhea County TN. He had lived there for 46 years and had also served in the War of 1812. In the 1830 census he was listed as head of household and there was 1 male (10-15), 1 male (20-30), 1 male (50-60, this was David), 1 female (10-15), 2 females (15-20), 1 female (20-30), and 1 female (50-60, probably Jane ). In the 1830 census his name is spelled Malone, but in 1840 & 1850 it is spelled Maloney. Also listed with David & Jane in the 1850 census were Mary A. In the 1860 census record she is listed as eleven and that would make DOB about 1849, and in other info I have seen it is listed as 1849. I would tend to believe that 1849 date because if we use the 1851 date then she would have married at age 14. It was possible she married at that age, but even back then 14 was young. In the 1900 census she is listed as the mother of 4/4 living, but in 1910 she is listed as mother of 7/4 living. The 1910 listing is correct. 3. Our first Thomas Malone is said to have come from County Waterford in Ireland to Pennsylvania in 1775. I think we may have located him near Hanover, York Co. Either he or his son Thomas Jr, married Sarah Iler [Oiler - Oyler]. They then moved to the James River above Buchanan, in what is now Botetourt County Virginia. The Malones intermarried with the MOORE and JARROTT families who migrated to Kanawha and Mason Counties (W) VA. Seeking information on these families. Juhling McClung

    1. [MALONE-L] Australia: Mary Malone
    2. Claire Malone
    3. Hi everyone, Anyone out there with Australian Malone connections? I'm trying to find out what happened to the following Malone children: Mary Malone, born 25th May 1857 in Broadford, Victoria, Australia to Patrick Malone and Julia Trihey (though her mother's maiden name has been recorded as everything from Treckey to Trahee to Troy). Apparently, this Mary Malone was never talked about, which is partly why I'm so interested in finding out what happened to her ;) I'd also like to find out what happened to Mary's brother, Timothy Malone, born around 1859 (where?). My grandfather always said that Timothy became a soldier and died in Mauritius, though we have never been able to find any record of this. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!
