There is a listing of the marriage of Thomas Jefferson Malone and Miss Pina Ozier; but that is all it is, just the listing. No further information. I only checked the Thomas Jefferson Malones. There are just too many plain Thomases and Thomas Js to look up. Sorry to be of so little help. Gordon Hale

Thomas moved to TN before 1820 and died there. Thomas may have had a previous wife. There was a marriage record of Thomas Malone and Piny E. Ozier in Fayette Co. TN, 12/16/1846. 3. Can anyone tell me if the MALONE book has a listing for Stephen MALONE & Sarah PARKS, both natives of NC? They were the parents of about 13 children, one of which was Thomas Jefferson MALONE, b. 1816 in Henry Co, TN and married Miss Pina E OZIER in Fayette Co., TN in 1846. I appreciate any help with this. I'm not asking for lookups or copies of material, just if the names might be listed in the index, then I can try to find the book through my library, as the cost for the book is prohibitive at the present time. Thanks! Rita ritajf_99@yahoo.com

    2. Hi, I am very interested in the Tennessee to Texas Malones. I have a Andrew J. Malone b. 1811 Davision Co. Ten married 1831 Faytette Co. Tenn to Nancy Reding. They had three boys, (1) Thomas Monroe Malone b. 1835 (2) William Farrington Malone b. 1835 Rutherford Co. Tenn and (3) Henderson F. Malone b. 1837 Rutherford Co. Tenn. They were later in Walker co. Texas and Montgomery Co. Texas. Would anyone know anything about these Malones? Becky Wilder Marion1947@aol.com

    1. Fw: [MALONE-L] The Malone Book
    2. All I know is that all of of these Samuel's and Francis Malone's make my head swim. Samuel and Clarissa Hale Malone's first child was Francis born in 1830, but they had a child named Hartley also that was born in 1837. Much confusion here. Anyway I have a message from Bernadette Malone telling me that Francis Malone was born on Jan. 17, 1760 and died Sept 1841 in Ohio. And that their son was Samuel Wesley Malone Sr. born in 1781. He married Mary Lamb and their for children were Martha, William, Frances and Samuel Wesley Sr. Samuel Wesley Jr. was born in 1810 in Ross County, Ohio and died on Feb. 15, 1842 in Eugene, Indiana. All I can document on this family is Francis born in 1760 and the four children. I am grasping at straws with the introduction of Samuel Wesley Sr. here, but it seems natural that we have a set of parents between Francis and Martha. The only reason I never used Samuel Sr. before was that I had a birthdate of 1891 on him. Another possibility would be Richard's son Samuel that was born in 1767 in Pa. Maybe the Francis that Richard Mack helped out with his pension was Martha's uncle, you suppose. Anyway, I am going to make a concerted effort to find our missing link. Anyway, I'll get back to you when I have something. Ron Pyle Angels Camp, Ca. Randolph Malone's book is genealogy with documentation, such as wills, estate records, deeds, marriage records, etc. included. It starts with the earliest Malones to this country in the 1700's and comes down to the present with names, dates and places. Everything is documented. It is the way genealogy books should be written. Thanks to Randolph Malone for such a fantastic volume of more than 1,400 pages. It is well worth the money. Phyllis Malone Porter

Which of Mark's children do you descend from? I only have information on his son Robert at the present time. You are welcome to contact me. Always good to hear from "cousins". Velma

    2. Does anyone know more about the Malone line mentioned by theGACROWELL posting? My line is from James Cecil Malone (9/17/1826) son of Samuel and Annie Chapman Malone. There is a James C. mentioned in the posting. I wonder if my James Cecil could have been his nephew and named after him. Also, does anyone have information on the Robert and Samuel mentioned? Daniel Malone was in the 1600s and he was, I think, the patriarch of this clan. 1400 pages. He doesn't include New Jersey in any of the marriage lists, or the census lists so I must assume that New Jersey Malones who came in the 1840/45s are not listed. If you would like to give me a name or two along with dates I will look and see for you. Gordon Hale

    2. My line starts with William born about 1791 in NC (although I think it may have been what is now Dekalb Co, TN now since that section was originally NC). - he married Rachell Suzanne (unknown last name). William & Rachell had Joshia, James C., Mary, David, Jackson, Rebecca, Samuel, Henry, Braxton, William Carroll (my direct), & Robert C. It appears that Williams' family was pretty well divided during the Civil War -- some fought for the Union and some for the Confederates. I know my William Carroll (went by Carroll on some reports) moved to Texas (probably before the Civil War). He and his wife, Emaline Simms were on the TN Census for 1850. He enlisted in Terrell's Texas Cavalry in I believe 1862. At any rate he fought for the Confederates in Texas and applied for pension in Kaufman, TX in 1865. All Carroll's children were born in the 1850s in TN, with the exception of my ggrandfather, Thomas Jefferson who wasborn 4/15/1868 in TX. We don't know when Carroll died. Our family was told that he died in an Indian Massacre around Carthage (not sure which state)- actually they said when he was moving his family from TN to TX in a wagon train, but that's hard to figure out. Unless he left his family in TN while he fought in TX in the Civil War and moved them later, but there is still the fact that Thomas was born in TX in April of 1868. There is a small window of time that the Indian raid story could have worked because of Thomas's birth. We do know William and his wife died when Thomas was a child because he was adopted by a Clark family in Van, Texas. Tom either refused to take the Clark name or as an adult changed his name back to Malone, and giving up a nice inheritance. He said he was born a Malone and he would die a Malone. Three of Tom's brothers lived and died in Texas: William Wiley in Myrtle Springs, TX, John W in Mineral Wells, TX and James Buchannan in Wills Point, Texas.

    2. Frank; Thank you. I think I looked at the book once and couldn't find anything, but was hoping that I overlooked something. I have been very fortunate on my Malones and have a good connection from Richard to the present, but being ever greedy I need every bit of information I can glean. I have Sherryl Barger's book on Samuel Malone and Clarissa Hale and there were just too many coincidences there. For instance; Samuel Malones second wife was Martha Mariah Cullom and My gg-grandmother was Martha Malone Pyle and they named their yoingest child Mariah, so this Samuel Malone and my gggg-grandfather Samuel Wesley Malone Sr. and ggg-grandfather Samuel Wesley Malone Jr must have been closely related. Thanks for your response. 3. Velma, I have a Malone line and a Hale line. My ggrandfather was Mark Anthony Malone b. Jan 1852, d. Jan 1907, TN, mar. Amanda Driver, 18 Sep 1873. Mark Anthony Malone was the child of Jackson Malone and ? Naves, I think. Jackson Malone was married a second time to Harriette Elizabeth Christon. My husband's gggggrandfather was Joab Hale. I have a copy of his will, State of Tennessee Sept 1843. Would love to hear from you. Loretta glinglis@bellsouth.net TrailsToThePast@cs.com wrote: > Gordon, > I appreciate the information so much.
