Mercy's birth date is with six weeks of the birth date of my ggg grandmother, close enough for me to wonder if Eliphalet Bangs died, and she remarried. My ggg grandfather was Jeremiah Olmsted/Olmstead, of West Stockbridge. He removed to Hope, Hamilton Co., NY (then Wells, Montgomery Co.), and later to Spafford, Onondaga Co., NY, where they both died in the middle 1850's. I believe that Jeremiah was a g grandson of Jabez Olmsted/Olmstead/Omsted,of Brookfield and Ware, MA.
