    1. [MAHAMPSH-L] Pascommuck Indian Raid of May 1704
    2. Weaver, Judy
    3. Does anyone have any information on this attack? Is there an accurate list of the dead. I have information that Benoni Jones was among the dead but have not found proof of this in the documents I have researched. Maybe someone can give me a source that contains the history of this raid. Thanks so much, Judy

    3. Shirley, You are mixing up the names. Hampton is not the same as Northampton I find no Hampton I do find Hampden. Northampton is the most northern of the and is in Hampshire County Holyoke is just to the south of Northampton and is in Hampden county. Chicopee is south east of Northampton and is in Hampden county. Hampden is the most south eastern and is in Hampden county. My guess is you are looking for the Northampton/Holyoke/Chicopee area and not the Northampton/Holyoke/Hampden area. There are 3 map connections at the USGenWeb Hampshire County site ~ http://www.rootsweb.com/~mahampsh/links.html#surcounties There is a link to Hampshire County Cemeteries ~ http://www.rootsweb.com/~mahampsh/county.html The links to Bridge St & Hebrew Cem. say Easthampton, I beleive these should say Northampton. At any rate ~ it is an excellent USGS site listing cemeteries in Hampshire County alphabetically or by town. Links to specific information about each cemetery, including longitude and latitude. 1. [MAHAMPSH-L] I am lost
    2. Is Hampton the same as Northhampton... and where are Chicopee and Holyoke in relation to all of this? I am still seeking the burial places of Joseph Arthur and Ida Marie Laframboise, but all the cemeteries I have written to have sent me letters stating that they do not have their remains. They lived in Northampden, Chicopee, Holyoke areas. Am I missing an older, now unlisted cemetery in that area? Really need some help here because of all the avenues are closing... 1. [MAHAMPSH-L] WOOD, BALCOM, TERWILLIGER, GIBBS, WHEELER
    2. twood
    3. Thank you for all of your responses. I am including the following to clarify some info on these surnames. We have a web page and GEDCOM file that include all of these surnames available at: http://members.xoom.com/exeterprod/hx/wood.html Feel free to email if you have any questions, submissions, etc. Thank you! Tim Wood We are looking for the parents of Alanson S. WOOD, born May 11, 1811. His wife was Electa BALCOM, born 1811. We have very good reason to believe that Joshua WOOD and Martha TERWILLIGER-WOOD are the parents of Alanson WOOD. Alanson and Joshua both arrive in Redfield, NY about the same time, 1831/2. According to federal census, state tax rolls, and his Revolutionary War Pension file, Joshua WOOD lived in Chenango County, NY from 1800-1829. Obviously, if Joshua is the father of Alanson, then Alanson should have been born in Oxford or surrounding area. More info: 1800 Joshua was living in Oxford, Chenango 1808 Joshua married Martha in Plymouth, Chenango 1810 Joshua was living in Bainbridge, Chenango 1820 Joshua was living in New Berlin, Chenango In 1830, they were living in Amboy, Oswego County, NY. September 24, 1832 - Joshua WOOD, given pension as a Revolutionary War Veteran, living in Redfield, Oswego County, NY. Joshua dies November, 1845, in Redfield, NY. April 16, 1853 - At age 65, Martha is allowed pension for her Vet husband, living in Redfield, NY. In October, 1855, she is living in Lorraine, Jefferson County, NY. Martha dies December 25, 1858. We also suspect they had three daughters, Paulina, Salana, and Grace Ann (Grace married a Filkins).

    2. John H. Beach
    3. The following was found on the Bradford Co., PA rootsweb site and thought it might be of interest to many viewers. John H. Beach ************************************ Hello listers, I had been curious for years about connections from the town for Northampton, Massachusetts to the Tioga - Bradford - Steuben Co. areas. I knew that I had a lot of ancestors that travelled from Mass. to these counties. I recently started a new site called "Early Settlers of Northampton", on which I am attempting to post descendancies from as many of the early inhabitants as I can. In the process of doing these descendancies, I was amazed at the number with Tioga & Bradford. Besides the obvious CLARK surname, there were SHELDON, STRONG & POMEROY descendants who moved to these areas. The site is: http://sites.netscape.net/davec551/homepage Anyone with Northampton roots should check for their surnames. I am uploading a few each day & have 10 surnames online so far, with at least 5 generations for each. Dave Clark Belmont NC ********************************************
