It closed some years ago. Whalem Park-Fitchburg closed several years ago. Riverside Park turned into SIX FLAGS. Grrrrrr...I don't have my list with me now but there were numerous others large enough to be called 'amusement park'. Forest Lake-Palmer. There was one in Northhampton,Leominster,Pittsfield,etc.etc. Mostly the trolley companies created such to increase ridership. Many of these places have been gone maybe 100 years ago so !!! Most probably dies post 1930's...some wimpered into the 50's.... As to Forest Park.Springfield. Ever recall it ever having ANY amusement? A merry-go-round??? I'd swear as a kid I remember one but can't find any evidence I'm not imagining things. Records show a 'Suburban Park' in Springfield. hmmm???? Down in Hartford,Ct. there was a large park later called Luna Park. The whole area is gone.Even the city park there is gone. Worcester had a big one...White City.... Also Pinehurst Park which is kind of an elusive mystery. Appreciate getting response sent via email. The Forest Park question?
