His WWI draft registration card, indicates his address at the time as, 73 Middlesex, Springfield MA, Born July 16,1881, Name--William Walter Walsh,Fireman, City of Springfield,wife Lilian. I would like to share with you that I found the Springfield Fire Department Website, and called the department, spoke to Division Head : Dennis Leger Phone: (413) 787-6405. I had a grandfather who was a Springfield firefighter and was searching for more information on him, he died long before I came into this world.
