May I suggest you contact the Catholic Diocese in Springfield. Their were several places that could be what you are looking for. The House of Good Shepard was a home for unwed mothers who gave their children up at birth for adoption and also Brightside, an orphanage, which is still in operation, was a home which children were adopted from!
