My Mother told me my Grandfather came from Chicopee Falls, Mass. I have searched the Census for this family in Chicopee but have not found this family. Some of my Grandfather's brothers were said to be born in Springfield. Would either Springfield or West Springfield be the place to look for Chicopee Falls? Thank you, L. H. Berard

Chicopee Falls is a small village that is part of Chicopee........... You didnt mention the dates you are searching..........it makes a big difference here in New England........... Prior to 1848, Chicopee was part of Springfield 1848.....town of Chicopee incorporated 1890 ...Chicopee was incorporated as a city 1945... bounderies between Springfield and Chicopee established so if the dates you information you need is prior to 1848.....look in Springfield. -------------- FYI: you mentioned West Springfield.....it was part of Springfield until 1774 source: Historical Data of Counties,Towns, Cities, of Mass. by the Sec.of State office.
