Gow of East St., South Hadley Falls, a Holyoke resident for many years, died last night after a short illness. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, Dec. 21, 1861, coming here in 1881. An iron molder by trade, he was employed for many years at the Holyoke Machine Company, retiring 15 years ago. Mr. Gow was a member of the Grace church. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Wilfred O. Bessette of South Hadley Falls, and Mrs. Maurice Moynihan of this city; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Hynd, and one brother, George Gow, both of Holyoke; several nieces and nephews, one cousin and five grandchildren. His wife, the former Ellen MacFarlane, died several years ago. Holyoke (Mass.) Transcript-Telegram Tuesday, October 28, 1947, Page 18 The funeral of William W. Gow of East St., South Hadley Falls, will be held at the Edward F. Day funeral home, Wednesday afternoon. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. E. B. Robinson. Burial will be in Forestdale cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. E. B. Robinson. The bearers were William F. Bessette, Maurice Moynihan, Peter Gow, and Alec Houston and James and Robert Hynd. Burial was in Forestdale cemetery.
