I'd just like to post a brief query about my grandfather, Silas "Dean" LEWIS, who was living in the Windsor Locks, CT, area in the 1940's. He was living there with his second wife and her children, and he and his step-children had formed a local band, "The LEWIS Swing-Billies." Mrs. Hazel LEWIS died there around 1950. Around 1952 he remarried in or near Chicopee, MA, to Mrs. Yvonne JARRY. Dean and Yvonne LEWIS lived in Chicopee Falls until his death in 1961. FYI: "Dean" and his first wife, Clarissa KIDDER, were from the Winchester and Medford, MA, area. Dean's second wife, Mrs. Hazel BEDELL, was from the Malden, MA, area during her first marriage. Mrs. Yvonne JARRY had come down from Quebec Province, Canada, as a young woman. FYI: Silas Dean LEWIS was one of the youngest of 13 children born to "Stanley" and Mary (CORKILL) LEWIS. They were both "British Home Children," who came from England with their siblings. They were all sent to different homes in Nova Scotia in 1874. "Stanley" and Mary LEWIS migrated to Boston, MA, in 1881, and raised their children in nearby Stoneham, MA.
