This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Warfield, Newton, Chapman Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VFB.2ACI/3546 Message Board Post: Hi, I'm looking for info on the following person: Ephraim Warfield b.1756 -- brother to Eliphalet, Aaron, Reuben (Wh- spelling) -- son of Samuel Warfield and Deliverance Watkins -- family lived in Westfield, MA (now Hampden Co.) area -- married "Anna Newton" in neighboring Blandford, MA on Sep 29, 1781 I'm trying to tie some scraps into one person. I'm researching Warfield in Delaware Co., NY. I think the line comes from that Ephraim Warfield. There is a Curtis Warfield (born in CT) w/son Henry in 1850 Franklin, NY (Del.Co.) census. Curtis seems to be the son of an Ephraim Warfield, as Ephraim, Ephraim (Jr.?), & Curtis are on the same page of the 1840 E.Windsor CT census. Ephraim Warfield (in the blurb above) is in the 1790 Westfield, MA census (w/2 males under 16 and 4 females). He is right next to a "John Newton" (must be related to Anna Newton -seems to be the brother of Jesse and Roswell in the same town, sons of an Ebenezer Newton and Anne Parke). In 1800, no more Ephraim in MA, but now one in CT, who appears there until 1830 - he's in in Del.Co.NY - then back in CT for 1840. This Ephraim is born about 1760. There are pension records for his service in the Rev. War for MA both in Susquehanna Co., PA (bordering Del.Co. NY) in the early 1830s and in 1840 East Windsor, CT census. If you go by the "MA Soldiers and Soldiers" volumes for the Rev War, there is only one Ephraim W(h)arfield in the MA military -- these HAVE TO be the same person, but I just can't find anything saying IT IS. Also, the Federal pension files list a "Julia" as the widow of Ephraim Warfield (not Anna) Also, does anyone have info Samuel Warfield being the son of Deacon John?? Is there concrete proof of this out there?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Brian - [email protected]
