He was born in Widacz, Poland and came to Chicopee Falls 58 years ago. He was retired from the Chicopee Manufacturing Corp. 10 years ago after being employed there for 40 years as a machine repairman. Husband of the late Ludwika (Galica) Godek, he leaves six sons, Stephen of Chicopee Center, John, Stanley, Joseph, and Mitzie of Chicopee Falls and Edward of South Hadley; and eight grandchildren. He was a member of the Polish National Alliance Group 711 of Chicopee Falls. The funeral will be Monday morning at 8 at Rypysc-Cierpial funeral home on East Street, with a high mass of requiem in St. Stanislaus Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visiting hours are Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10. Note: Michael Godek was born in Widacz, Poland September 20, 1880. He was the son of Mateusz Godek and Katarzyna Stefanik.
