My g-grandparents gravestone is spelled in their native language, the "L" is crossed "Stonina" appearing to be a "t", not an "L". The English translation could have been carried on in your area. According to "anywho.com" there are no other Stonina's in RI, CT, ME, NH only 1 NJ and 5 MA. That is my guess. Not many Slonina's left in RI either :( Thanks for the input, every little piece helps to make the big picture!! Kathy
