He probably held office in the 1950's or 1960's (based on age - my information has it he was born in 1920's). His father was LAURENCE KAVANAGH of the Colony, Dingle, Co. Kerry, and his mother was ELLEN/HELEN BROSNAN of the Quay, Dingle. KAVANAGH had two sisters, Patsy, born about 1928, and Nessie, and a number of other siblings. I know some of them are still alive because they visited their Brosnan cousins at Leac a Re, the Quay, Dingle, a couple of years ago. Ellen Brosnan was my great-aunt. She had two sisters who also emigrated to the area - Ann or Hannah, who married an O'DONNELL from Castlegregory, and Madge/Margaret who married CONWAY. My mom is anxious to get in touch with her cousins again, so any information/pointers would be greatly appreciated.
