LINCOLN Was born in Munson, Hamden county, Massachusetts, December 15. 1829. He is a son of Seth C. Lincoln, who removed to Onondaga county, New York, and then removed to Crawford county, 1837, where he bought 400 acres of land, where now stands the village of Lincolnville, which place bears the name of the old settler. During the first summer he built a grist and saw-mill on Oil Creek, which was run up to his death, which occurred June 1, 1847. After this occurrence the subject of this article in connection with his brother carried on the mill four or five years. During the father's life time the original farm was enlarged to 800 acres. There now remain 300 acres in the hands of the widow and son. Mr. Lincoln is now running a dressing mill, stave mill and farming. The mills are known as the Lincoln Mills all around the country. In 1859 Mr. Lincoln surveyed the flats into village lots, plots of ground forty rods square, which comprise the village. Directory of Crawford County, PA, 1879-80, page 277
