    1. Re: [MAHAMPDEN] Ludlow death records question
    2. Cynthia
    3. LUDLOW was established from Springfield.....in 1774......so if any earlier records sought, you'd need to check Springfield records which go way back to about 1635 or so. (I do have the latter) The OLD name of Ludlow was "Stony Hill". 1. Lafreniere to Freeman??
    2. I am hoping that someone can help me. I am looking into my great great grandparents. They were JOHN FREEMAN and LOUISA DANIELS. I am trying to find info at the moment on my gggrandgather John.. This is what seems to be the problem.. I am trying to find any info on JOHN FREEMAN. However, throughout a number of years of researching I cant find anything on JOHN. I found info on my great grandmother's (Clara) marriage register her last name as Lafreniere and Daniels. This got me wondering and confused however I was advised that the Freeman named may be the anglized version of LAFRENIERE. Soooo, I am wondering if there is anyone that can help me find more info on JOHN FREEMAN (LAFRENIERE) This is the info that I have so far, according to the 1880 census. Louisa and John were living in Massachusetts at this time... JOHN FREEMAN, 42 , Born in Canada was a carpentar, parents born in Canada Louisa (Daniels), 27, born in Canada, keep house, parents born in Canada They had three children: Eli, 6 born in MA; Clara, 4 born in MA, Charles, 7M, born in MA. I know that John and Louisa were living in West Springfield in 1910. But havent found any other info... Thank you in advance... Lfelixthekat@aol.com

    3. 1930 Census living Federal Street--he was renting, listed as widow,age48,captain in the fire department. District 53,Ward 3,Block 88. His WWI draft registration card, indicates his address at the time as, 73 Middlesex, Springfield MA, Born July 16,1881, Name--William Walter Walsh,Fireman, City of Springfield, wife Lilian. I would like to share with you that I found the Springfield Fire Department Website, and called the department, spoke to Division Head : Dennis Leger Phone: (413) 787-6405. I had a grandfather who was a Springfield firefighter and was searching for more information on him, he died long before I came into this world. Mr. Leger provided me with his entire fire employment record- -it is worth a call, he was most helpful and thorough and took no longer than a half hour for him to find the info I was looking for. http://www.springfieldfirema.org/ -- WOW!
