Jacob Badger married Annie Augusta Brown in New York in 1865. They had a daughter Cora May in 1866, and came to Holyoke, Mass about 1881. Jacob was a Book Binder and worked for the Blank Book Company. They had a second daughter Frances Augusta Badger on November 30 1877. The family lived at 70 Bond St in Holyoke, MA. Cora May Badger married Anthony More (who also worked for the Blank Book Company) about 1885. The family lived at 170 Cabot St. Cora and Anthony had 5 children, and 4 survived infancy. Mary A, born about 1886, August M born about 1890, Arthur L, who was a doctor and died in Merrimack, Concord NH, in 1989, and Louise C, who was born about 1902. I have no information on the females in the family. If anyone can provide information on the marriages of the females, and the deaths of Cora and her husband I would be most grateful. Frances Augusta Badger married George Kramer in 1901, and George lived at 26 Bond St. They had 12 children. I have all the birth and death dates. Two are still surviving. Frances and George's first child died of cholera in 1902 at the age of 7 months. George was a furniture varnisher as was his father Theodore. I have information that George's father was Theodore Kramer, and he married a Mary Buenor? Burnor?or Menard(spelling?) on April 26, 1877 at the 2nd Baptist Church. However George's birth certificate lists his parents as Theodore Kramer and Marie Menard. In 1882 Frances was living with George at 82 or 62 Bond St, then in the 1910 census the family had moved to Newton St. As yet I cannot find the family in 1920, but they were living at 128 Walnut in Holyoke in 1917. George died about 1925 when the yougest child was about 3 years old. Theodore Kramer may have had a sister Elizabeth. Elizabeth married on March 19, 1869 in Holyoke. I can't read on the record whom she married, but both Theodore and Elizabeth list their parents as John and Elizabeth Kramer. The parents were born in Germany as was Elizabeth, but Theodore lists his birthplace as Connecticut, November 1855. If anyone has information on the death of George Kramer or his parents Theodore or Mary Kramer, or the deaths of Jacob and Annie Badger, again I would be most grateful. I have no commercial interest in the publication but found reference to the first edition on the Devon list through a comment like this one and wanted to pass it on to Henry Burt/Hampden researchers. It is a history of Sherford, the birthplace of Eulalia Marche who married Henry Burt in1619. It clarifies her ancestry three generations back and contains an original sketch of Hill Farm, her probable birthplace. This farm was owned by her brother William at his death in 1671 having passed on to him fro Eulalia's parents. Mention of the Martyn's as well. Contact through [email protected] The author is John Goodman, a wonderful man who retired to Sherford and wrote this local history as a labor of love. He may be reached at [email protected]

Hi, Does anyone know of any adoption support groups in western MA? Particularly around Springfield? Thanks for any input. Becky >
12-9 If anybody is looking in the cemeteries in the Palmer, Holyoke, Chicopee area, a name to look for is Johanna MacDonald Moriarty. She was listed with her husband, Michael, on the 1860 Palmer, Hampden, MA census with their children. She must have died soon after that since Michael shows up with Bridget and their children in LaSalle Co., IL in 1870. My ancestor is their son, Michael, who married in LaSalle Co., IL. If anybody spots baptismal records, that would be great. His sister Ellen was born 8-15-1852, Michael 9-29-1854, Daniel about 1856 and Mary, 1858, maybe Holyoke. Bridget's children were born in IL. Any connections will be appreciated. Helen

(in 1891 Elizabeth was 53, Daisy Helena 20 and Winnifred Mabel May 12, Charles Herbert 17, Francis Howard 15). I am telling you all I know but you just look for what you have the time for. Thank you very much for offering. 1891 Springfield City Directory page 263 shows ELIZABETH PRINGLE listed as widow of O. , living at h 74 Hancock. I don't know if the children were with her. The girls might have been in the School for Christian Workers which opened to young women in 1891 in Springfield, Mass. My grandmother, Daisy Helena Pringle, married in 1892 to William B Sandford who had attended the School For Christian Workers in Springfield and graduated from there in 1891. I was told the name was changed in 1897 to Bible Normal College. Bible Normal College it was later absorbed into Hartford Seminary. Source; Hartford Theological Seminary 100th Anniversary booklet published in 1934. Marriage record; "Daisy H. Pringle, 21, residence Springfield, Massachusetts, at home, born Canada, d/o Orin Pringle and Elizabeth marriage to William B. Sandford, 22, residence Allison, Iowa, occu: SS Missionary, born Chaplin, Connecticut, s/o Charles T. Sandford and Olive Gurley on 6 September 1892 in Springfield, Massachusetts by Carlos H. Hanks Clergyman Springfield. It doesn't give the church so maybe it was at the school? 1893 Springfield City Directory has ELIZABETH PRINGLE, widow O, living at 24 Winchester with CHARLES H PRINGLE, who was employed by P H Potter. That would be her son, Charles Herbert Pringle. I need to know if Winnifred Mabel May and Francis Howard were with them. 1894 Springfield City Directory has CHARLES H PRINGLE, employed by P H Potter bds, and Elizabeth Pringle, widow O, living at 124 Andrew in Springfield. I need to know if Winnifred Mabel May and Francis Howard were with them. Winifred May Pringle married in Springfield, Massachusetts February 27, 1900, Record says; "Winifred May Pringle, age 20, Residence; Dawson Avenue, Springfield, Massachusetts, Occupation; at home, born in Northhampton, (incorrect-born in Cn), daughter of Orin Pringle and Elizabeth Frizzell. Married LOUIS WILLIAM HOWARD, age 23, Residence; 883 Allen Street, Occupation: Bookkeeper, born in Springfield, son of Charles G. Howard and Annie E. Pierce. Married by Willard E Waterbury Misister of the Gospel." Do not know what chruch. 1901 Northampton City Directory has Elizabeth Pringle boarding at 163 Prospect St. with her son, William A Pringle. I want to know if Francis Howard or Charles Howard were with William Pringle and his wife, Augusta Barrus. In 1902 William and his mother, Elizabeth Pringle, had removed to Holyoke. The 1903 Holyoke City Directory has William A. Pringle foreman Ely Lumber Co..... Lived at 143 Brown St. Elizabeth died in Canada in 1905 from Paralysis 2 years so might have been taken back to Deseronto Canada in 1903. I am still trying to learn with whom she was living when she died. Winifred Howard had at least 2 daughters born at 888 Allen St Springfield; Thelma Anna Howard born April 28, 1905 in Springfield, Massachusetts "daughter of Lewis W. Howard, born in Springfield, MA, gardener, residence 888 Allen Street and May Pringle born Canada. Mrs Thelma Collins was living at 483 White Street, Springfield, Ma in 1956. Perhaps looking there, you could tell if she had children. Winifred Elizabeth Howard born August 16, 1910 in Springfield, Massachusetts "daughter of Lewis W. Howard, born in Springfield, MA, market gardener, residence 888 Allen Street and Winifred M. "Pringle" Howard, born in Canada. If you looked at 888 Allen St a little after that maybe you could tell if Winifred had any other children.
