He married Flavia French (born in Hampden, Mass) sometime before 1834. He may have had a sister named Parmelia born abt 1796 in Mass. I have a story regarding him traveling down the Allegheny River from Olean, New York in 1837 to the Ohio River and then to Cincinnati with a load of lumber, and one about his murder in Muscatine, IA in 1863, which I would love to share. He was also said to have been the first sheriff of Burlington, Des Moines Co, IA. Also have more on Silas and Flavia's children, but have not been able to locate his or her parents names. Has anyone out there run into these names in your research. I would love to hear from you. Thank you!

    2. Ed O'Connor
    3. I am trying to substantiate the existence of one Louis Robinson who is my great granduncle. The only reference to him at all is from the obituary of his sister, Mary(Robinson) McKenna who died in 1915. The obtiuary listed Louis as living in Agawam but to date I have found no record of him. I've checked the Mass. State Archives for his birth cert and the Bureau of Vital Stats for his death cert. Although I haven't done a lot of research in Agawam, I have determined that their directories only started in 1935 and I believe that he would have died by then. Any other suggested avenues for research would be appreciated. Ed O'Connor Hudson,MA

    3. I am looking for any information on Donald O'Connor and or his family. Donald is a first cousin, twice removed who was born in Holyoke between 1890 and 1900. His parents were Patrick J. O'Connor and Mary( O'Connor) O'Connor. Mary is my great grandfather's sister or so I believe. The first reference to Donald comes from the obituary of his aunt dated in October of 1950. At that time, he is listed as living in New York City. In 1965, at the death of another aunt he is listed as living in New York City. In November, 1970 he is listed as living in Springfield, Hampden County, Mass. It is most likely that he died in Springfield although I don't have a date of death as yet. I don't know whether Donald was married but I suspect that he was. I also do not know about any children but I'm hoping that if there were children, that I may be able to find them or their families. Doanld had at least four siblings, three of whom pre-deceased him. They were Johanna(O'Connor) Aloisio, Mary(O'Connor)Ryan, Patrick J. O'Connor( Albany, NY) and Katherine( O'Connor) Malone who may have survived Donald. Katherine was living in Brooklyn as late as 1970. Ed O'Connor Hudson,MA formerly of Holyoke,MA
