Does anyone have a listing for Bayliss in a city directory or census (other than 1880 which I already have) for a Bayliss in Springfield. John Bayliss and his wife Ann, then age 65 and their children Edmund and Esther lived in Springfield in 1880 and I am looking for any additional information on them. Any help would be appreciated.

They had a number of children: Alfred, Emma Moses/Moise, Josphine, Helen, Philip, (Arthur died at about 2 months old) and Theophile Felix. My great grandfather is Alfred. I am interested at the moment of two of his sisters: Josphine who was married to Albert Snyder on 10/27/1909. I was wondering if they had any children.. After Josephine's death, he married her sister Emma. I do not have any dates of their marriage nor do not have any info if there were any children. Does any have any info? Please let me know

John BOYD married Margaret LONG, in Suffolk County, Boston, Mass. on 11 April 1731, daughter of John and Sarah Long of Taunton, Mass. In "Genealogical Data Extracted from the Boston Selectmen's Minutes 1736-1775" by Brigitte Burket there is a "Warning Out" record "John Boyd and his wife are lately come to Rumney Marsh and are at the home of John White; they are "warned to depart" the town within 14 days." The next record I find of John and Margaret Boyd is in Worcestor County, Upton/Hopkinton, MA where some of their children's births or baptisms are recorded. Margaret died 30 September 1793 aged 86. She married Frank Baranowski also from Poland. My mother just told me that approx. 1948-1949 her grandmother, Mary Baranowski (Wisniewska) remarried. The marriage was in Westfield, Mass. and her new husband worked for the Schwinn Bicycle Co. in Westfield. She would have been approx. 63 yrs. old. I cannot find anything on Mary. Charlotte Pomeroy, dau of Pliny, was born 1783 most likely in Massachusetts. She married Titus Rust (b. 1779) in 1802. They lived in Onondaga County, NY, as early ast 1805 where he is listed as a tanner and shoemaker. Charlotte and Titus convey some land in 1807 and he signs a petition in 1811, and after that my trail goes cold. He reportedly died in Berlin, CT (date unknown). So it is possible she was in CT at his death and married Zachariah Harey in 1824 in Charleston, VT. Do you have any data to support to deflate this idea? Thanks, Bill

I don't have any info on the siblings of Hugh Hamilton. however, I thought you might like to know Hugh Hamilton was the first settler in Blandford, MA from Hopkinton. The major influx of those who settled followed about a year later, including my grandfather of that generation, William Knox, and his brothers, John, and Adam, along with his second wife Elizabeth Chubb Knox and his children by his first wife (my grandmother of that generation whose name has been lost to history) that includes John, William, Adam, Griswold, and two by Elizabeth, Agnes and Elizabeth. You may not find out much at all if you try to search the Hopkinton, MA records. I tried to find out the name, and date of death of my grandmother of that generation, the first wife of William, but both the town records and the church records were lost in fires, and the old colonial gravestones are also gone. Peggy J. Knox Descendent of William Knox PS. For those who are tempted to tell me according to Nathaniel Foote that I'm wrong about the mother of William, John, and Adam, Foote's research was incomplete, and admits his confusion in the book when he finds the marriage record of William Knox and Elizabeth Chubb, on 3 March 1725 (Boston Vital Statistics).
