Hello, I have finally found a marriage announcement that I have needed for ever so long. In the Poughkeepsie Journal, October 8, 1828 it is stated "Married: At Amenia, on the 1st inst. by the Rev. Asahel Bronson, Mr. Truman Biddle of Tolland, Mass to Miss Eveline Doughty of Sharon, Conn.". The "Biddle" family went by Bidwell more often than Biddle, but I have seen both, obviously. Is anyone able to furnish any information about Truman and his ancestry? I have searched the Hampden County website and came up with nothing, so far. Deacon Samuel Chapin, standing guard in Springfield, is also an ancestor, but that is another quest. :~) Thanks for any help. Chicopee Falls is a small village that is part of Chicopee........... You didnt mention the dates you are searching..........it makes a big difference here in New England........... Prior to 1848, Chicopee was part of Springfield 1848.....town of Chicopee incorporated 1890 ...Chicopee was incorporated as a city 1945... bounderies between Springfield and Chicopee established so if the dates you information you need is prior to 1848.....look in Springfield. -------------- FYI: you mentioned West Springfield.....it was part of Springfield until 1774 source: Historical Data of Counties,Towns, Cities, of Mass. by the Sec.of State office.
