Hi folks, two questions: 1...When requesting a birth certificate from the Archives, does race play a part? 2...Hearn and Company funeral parlors buried a relative of mine in 1936. Is this company still in operation? If not, who might I contact to find out what happened to their records? Thanks guys and please have a good evening. Jim Gaw, a voice from the Arizona Desert. He was born approximately 1863. His wife, Mary Grenier, was born around 1868. They are my husband's great-grandparents. The first time they are found in Indian Orchard is from the City Directory of 1891. They lived on Center Street, Water Street, and Main Street in Indian Orchard. They show up in the St. Aloysius book (located at the Springfield Historical Society) in 1891. They moved from Indian Orchard to Malone, NY in 1905. They lived in Malone until approximately 1918 when they moved to Pawtucket, RI. They had a daughter, Mae Evelina, who married Charles Facteau in Malone. There is a Mae Evelina Letourneau who was born in Indian Orchard on 23 Oct. 1891 and died on 7 June 1892. Our Mae was born in 1898. The family rumor is that our Mae was adopted. Does any of this sound familiar to you. Anxiously awaiting your reply. Martha Carter

There wa sa Paul Letourneau.. And most of the Letourneau, Patenaude, Gonyea, Dennis and other family members, worked at one time at Chapman Valve in Indian Orchard, MA. This was a booming factory in that area during those years. It was in between Ludlow and Indian Orchard, MA. Close to where they all lived. The 1790 Census for Berkshire and Hampshire COunties are now online in the searchable databases at roorsweb. To search them just use this link for now. http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyne/berkshire_ma/berkshire_search.htm Please note that this is a tempeory search page, I have to figure out how to make a seperate one for each county or just have this one at my New England Genealogy site. The town of Northampton is not included as the listing was lost prior to the census being published in 1908. If you view the details of a record just ignore the value of $68 at the bottom, that indentifies me. At the end of each name listed is a link for PostEms. If you have any additional information on any family you can post it there, that would include links to a web site that you have about the family. Or questions that you have about them, your email address will go on as a mailto link if you leave it.
