Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VFB.2ACI/3480.2 Message Board Post: Would you know if "Slonina" could be spelled as "Stonina"? Reason for my question, is this name "Stonina" is sort of popular in Chicopee, MA. There's a Stonina Dr. and the name Stonina is mentioned on a plaque in front of the Chicopee City Hall building, which is near Front St. Stonina Dr. runs from Hampden St. out to Nonotuck Ave. which is in the center of Chicopee. Not far from the addresses on the other reply posted. I have no connection to this name, but I used to live in Chicopee and have seen Stonina many times. Next time I go to Chicopee's city hall, I'll ask them if they have those names in their files. Roberta Cyr from Springfield, MA.

Surnames: Harris, Dugay, Heath Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VFB.2ACI/158.737.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi, Cous. My great grandmother was Alma Dugay, married to Lucian Harris, and she was Jessie's sister. Her father was Charles Dugay, and her mother was Selina Dugay. I have printed out the information that was listed on the message board. About ten years ago I began researching my family history. I drove into Becket one day, and stopped at the package store. When I sat down at the counter, I noticed a gentleman at the other end of the counter. I was sure he was a Harris, and he turned out to be a relative. Can't remember his name right now. I then went to the library, and discovered the librarian lived in my great grandfather Lucian Harris' house. She mentioned Jessie loved watercress or cucumber sandwiches? If I can find anything else for you, please let me know. I live close enough to do some more research. I may be able to transfer some of the information in Microsoft Works format for you. I haven't been able to find Salome's parents, too. I think her name was actually Selina Martel. I have to look in my records again. Everything has become dim. I also found the house where the Dugay's lived. Kathy Dickinson [email protected]

    1. [MAHAMPDE] Springfield lookup
    2. Hello, I am searching for a needle in a haystack! A ,Thomas Baker. If anyone has access to City Directories for Springfield I would appreciate a lookup for Thomas Baker and employee of Diamond Match Company. Thomas was born in 1895 in California and his parents joined him after the employer sent him from Chico, Calif. but they returned home in the about 1923. My guess would be 1915 to 1923 for a time span or any of those years that anyone could look up. Thank you, Barbara in Portland, Oregon

Surnames: Baker/Feltzer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VFB.2ACI/3482 Message Board Post: Hello, I am trying to find information on a Thomas Baker, b. 18 Aug 1895 in Trinity Co., California. He was the son of Walter J. Baker, a twin, also born in Trinity Co., California and Magdalena Feltzer. Thomas, the son of Walter, is said by a newly found researching cousin age 83, to have been employed by Diamond Match Company in Chico, California and sent to Springfield, Mass. She believes he might have had two sons. I have a photograph somewhere in my hand-me-down family pictures with Tom Baker, Springefield, Mass written on the back. In this photograph, not at hand but clear in my mind, a very nice looking white haired gentleman in white shirt and dark pants holds a young girl with short dark hair. She is possibly his granddaughter. The photo might have been taken around the 1940s. Tom's parents, Walter and Magdalena went to Springfield, Massachusetts also but returned to Chico, Calif in the early 1920s. If this sounds in anyway familar and you are working on the surname BAKER in Massachusetts with a California place of birth please contact me.
