I have found some information on two cousins related to my O'Connor line. These would be second cousins as their grandmother and my grandfather were siblings. I have my doubts as to whether they know of my existence or that of many other cousins and I'd like to try to obtain their current mailing address. Unfortunately although they both were known to be living in Springfield, neither has a lisiting in the Springfield phone book or any equivalent electronic version. With the temporary closure of the Springfield library for renovations, is there any other means of checking available City directories for Springfield ? The Pine Point Library does not have hard copies and I have no other means for trying to establish contact. I'm looking for Mary(Tresch) Clay and Howard Tresch III. Ed O'Connor Hudson,MA
Molly, I have the index for the Mass. 1870 Census. I wasn't sure about the cutting and pasting but this is what I found regarding the Connell name for Holyoke: Ann Page 119 Daniel 107 David 107 Ellen 107 Johanna 121 Mary 107 Mary 121 Mary 137 Maurice 107 Thomas 137 For the Cullity surname there was only one entry and that for Johanna, Worcester 4th Ward, Page 9, Film number 658. Hope that helps... In the 1880 Census for Holyoke, might there be an entry for Fred and Maria Beaudry( Budrey, Bodrey) ? Does anyone on the list have the 1870 census index cd?? I need to find a family that has a John Connell aged abt 14.(lol,sheeesh) I found him married to Hannah Cullity on the 1880 census in Worcester MA,with a daughter Julia b. 1879 in Holyoke. He was 24 and she was 26. I was attempting to go thru the whole census for Holyoke for 1870 on ancestry...but there is 270 pages and this is not working,I am only up to page 11.He was b.Ireland 1854 .Hannah also b.Ireland Parents may have been Bartholomew and Bridget Connell, but not exactly possitive about that. If you can just copy/paste me the listing for Connells and Cullitys I would be most grateful. These are my g.grand-parents,as to when they arrived US,is what I am trying to pinpoint. I can reciprocate with the 1880 census. Maureen (NY,USA) Ye Old Directory Shoppe 1/2 price BLAST! I have been in the midst of a million major projects (moving, sellng a house, buying a house to name a few things) and have had no time whatsoever. Your response is exciting news! Elizabeth's mother (Charlotte Low Harris) and my great-grandmother (Ann Low Harris) were sisters. A number of the Harris sisters moved to Holyoke about the same time. There are still a number of Harris descendants about. I have lots of info on the Harris clan. I would love to learn more about the Marsh line and anything else about Elizabeth and/or her mother. Also, any idea about all the other Clarks? Most seemed to have moved on to Ohio and the families seemed to have lost touch. Elizabeth C. Clark was one of a family of nine children, so there are quite a few descendants out there. Feel free to respond here or privately, looking forward to hearing from you.
