Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VFB.2ACI/3532.1 Message Board Post: Hi, Yvette - I thought you might like to know that most of the 1890 federal US census was destroyed in a fire. There is a special Civil War veterans census that still exists from that year & if your ancestor was a veteran, he might be listed in that (widows are listed if the vet has died). Other than that, there are city directories from that time period, but no complete census. Good luck with your search.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VFB.2ACI/3567 Message Board Post: I am an experienced amateur genealogist who has researched over 350 proven direct ancestors. My database contains 2500 names, which include my ancestor’s children and all descendants of my great-grandparents. I am a history major and genealogy is my passion. I wish to make genealogy my business. I am looking into certification. The process takes half a year. I have records available to me for research for the states of MA, CT, RI, and VT with a concentration on Berkshire, Hampden, Hampshire, and Worcester Counties. I will review any query for free and will only take cases that I believe will generate results. Because of this I guarantee I will turn up research or I will refund your initial fee. My prices are less than half the price of the national average and are very affordable. Please contact me at [email protected] for more information and references from other researchers.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Boecklin, Vester, Smith, Kramer. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VFB.2ACI/3562 Message Board Post: My name is Elizabeth Kelly, and I live in Alameda, California. I'm attempting to research my husband's family. I've managed to trace Johann Kraemer, and Elisabetha Becker to Michelbach, Obrhss, Hessen. John and Elisabeth Kraemer had 5 children Louise born July 2, 1841, Johann born on June 27, 1843, Elizabeth E., born July 14, 1848, Caroline, born February 09, 1850, and Karl, born March 22, 1851. According to the IGI Johann Kraemer and Elisabetha Becker were married on August 23, 1849, Evangelisch, Schotten, Oberhessen, Hessen. There daughter Louise was also christened at the same place on July 9, 1841. Around the early to mid 1850's the family travelled to the USA, and settled in Connecticut where I believe Johann died before 1870. I have found all three of the female children, and their spouses living in Springfield, and Holyoke, Massachusetts in the 1880's to 1920's. Elisabeth married Edward Boecklin who was the Captain of Police in Springfield in 1890, and 1900. they had at leas 3 children Jennie, Emma, and Thomas. Caroline I believ married George F. Vester (a saloon keeper) and lived in Springfield, MA. They had at least 3 children George F. Vester, Carrie, and Nettie. Louise Kramer married John Smith (also from hessen Germany. they had a son Charles, and John worked in the woollen mill in 1880. As yet I do not know the location of the male children. There was another male child (Theodore) born in CT, and a female child (Emma) born in 1860. Theodore married Marie Menard or Mary Burnor/Buins and had a son George. If anyone has any information on the ancestry of Johann or Elizabeth, I would be most grateful if you would share that info with me. Warm regards from Elizabeth
