Hi Paul, The Charlemont, MA Rices descend from Edmund-1.  Most of these lines have been documented by the Edmund Rice Assn.   "Sylvanus RICE, born Jan. 6, 1729; died in March, 1819; wed Esther Mins; captain, Massachusetts, is listed in 'Chapter Four Directory of Rice Revolutionary War Soldiers'.
