Hannah CONKEY (daughter of William CONKEY and Mary YOUNG) was born on 30 Apr 1742 in Pelham, Hampshire, Massachusetts. She died on 21 Sep 1825 in Rowe, Franklin, Massachusetts. Mrs. Thomas, for years practiced medicine in Rowe, and was probably the first woman physician in that town. She died September 21, 1825, aged 83 years. He was buried in North River Cemetery, Colrain, Franklin, Massachusetts. A History of Colrain, Massachusetts, with Genealogies of Early Families, by Lois McClellan Patrie. p. 115 John bought considerable land in Colrain from his father and others and at one time was part owner of a "corn Mill" on the North River. He sold the last of his holdings in 1788 and probably removed at that time to Hartford, N.Y. During the Indian warfare he was out, in 1756, 23 days on the Western frontier, and again as private, from June 27, to Oct. 1758. "to the Westward."
