I have a copy of the Oneida County (N.Y.) Directory, 1869. It contains 7 people named Richmond, no James. However in Augusta there was an Isaac, post office Knox Corners/Knoxboro. He is shown as a farmer with 166 acres. Other Richmonds listed are: In Rome, post office Delta, William, basket maker and lock tender; in Lee, post office Lee Center, Charles lot 44, farmer, 60 acres; Michael, lot 20, farmer, 100 acres; Reuben R., lot 6, farmer, 70 acres; in Camden, post office Camden, William, lot 72 in township #7, farmer, 81 acres and John, Plank Road near Main, lumberman and farmer. This does not offer much, and probably is a duplicate of census information, but it may be a clue to open another door. >Surnames: Richmond, Gorham >Classification: queries > >Message Board URL: > >http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.massachusetts.counties.franklin/2145/mb.ashx > >Message Board Post: > >I am seeking any information on this family.
