Maybe a clue for your "Mariam BROOKS b. 1761 in Deerfield, MA and d. in Franklin Co. MA abt 1789." being a first settler family member. With them being married in 1779, her dying c1789, & the town being incorporated in 1793, it seems likely she may be related to one of the early settlers of Gill. The early church in Gill was apparently formed in 1796, one of it's pastor's later on was- ................................."and Rev. Edward F. BROOKS was installed in his place, June 25, 1851. Mr. BROOKS was a native of Halifax, Vt., a graduate of Washington College, Pa., and is still the pastor." found at the following link - hope this helps!
