In 31 Oct 1784, James marries Prudence Gibbs in Greenwich. 1789 Bk, 106, pg 481, Worcester deeds, James Holmes of Greenwich sells to Thomas Stevens of Taunton, land in Hardwick lot 13, Grist mill and 1/2 saw mill by John Harris and Ephraim Thayer on Swift River. Prudence gives up 1/3 dower in hand. 1792, Deed Bk 13, pg 196, Franklin Co., John King of New Salem sells to James Holmes of Greenwich land in NE, New Salem, east end of lot 188 on Millers River. 1800, Ahar Thayer of Northampton, yeoman, sells to James Holmes of New Salem land in Northampton called the Knob farm in the long division on John Millers Brook, 262 acres. bk 13, pg 464. Belived to be the James Holmes who bought land 1804 in Richfield, Ostego, N.Y. James HOLMES and Mollie STEPHENS were married on 2 May 1770 in Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts. 5. There is a deed Vol. 50, pg 180, 1764, Worcester. In 1771, he bought land from Silas Stevens, in Warwick. He was town clerk for 1 year. In Deed bk 23, pg 92, Franklin deeds, Josiah sold Lots 1 - 4, in Warwick. Joseph RAWSON and Hannah BASS were married on 28 Aug 1750 in Braintree, Norfolk, Massachusetts. 7.
