She lived in a period of country's history when it was necessary that the mothers and daughters should understand not only the culinary art, but also the manufacture of cloth, and she was expert at the spinning wheel and the loom, in converting flax and wool into fabrics for making the wardrobe of her family. Yet her education was not neglected, and particularly in music did she excel. The remains of Capt. Othniel Johnson and Anna Elmer were both repose in a little rural cemetery on the farm where they had lived for more than half a century. Their children were all born in Buckland. In 1884, he prublished "Records of the Descendants of Thomas Clark of Plymouth, Mass." In 1892, published "Records of the Descendants of John Johnson of Ipswich and Andover, Mass.," and is the author of this book.. ix.
