Clarke. Follow is a statement of it purpose: "To give lasting recognition to the community's appreciation of the long and useful life of Dr. Clarke, whose death on Mar. 27, 1947, in his 76th year, ended a professional career of 45 year, it is proposed to raise a memorial fund to be spent on the maternity ward of Strudy Memorial Hospital, of which he was one of the incorporators in 1910. the plan is to raise a fund of $10, 059.00, one dollar for each of the 10,059 babies whom Dr. Clarke brought into the world during his long and brilliant professional career."
