    3. Greetings, Picked the wrong weekend to photograph the Albany Road Burying Ground - there were sixteen teams in town for games, games, and more games, so there was no parking available at the cemetery. The kindly officer let us park for a moment for a couple photos, but no time to really look for some names I'm seeking for folks on the mailing list. So, instead, we drove up and down The Mile and took some photos of the houses - many of which are private homes. I don't know the names of all the homes but I've posted them where I do. So take a little drive - and remember I took most of these from a moving car - they are just glimpses of the past. http://community.webshots.com/album/201672751mesmlx We also stumbled across a Samuel Allen memorial marker down a side road. It mentions the Bars Fight in 1746, not far from the stone. We wound up at Laurel Hill Cemetery - thanks to a tip from Cyndy - and directions from a helpful bookstore clerk. If you are interested in any particular burials there, email me - I might have it. Among the names we shot: Hawks, Dickinson, Sheldon, Starr (all buried in Illinois), and some Arms. We also visited Mill River Cemetery at Lee Road and Stillwater and found some Hawks, Grout, Clapp and Williams. BTW: Historic Deerfield has a new map to the Albany Road Cemetery - with each grave numbered and a corresponding list of names. It was under $2! Also - on October 31st they are having a Hands On History - Supernatural Sunday - and one of the events which may interest you is a gravestone carving demonstration by the amazing Karin Sprague of RI - from noon to 4pm in the Harry Brown Barn. http://www.karinsprague.com/carvers.htm Have a great autumn! ~Rusty West Springfield Massachusetts - Stories Carved In Stone: http://www.dogpondpress.net/stone.html Old Bones Tombstone Gallery: http://www.oldbones.net/cpg/index.php?cat=10014

    3. Thank you for the pictures. Perhaps some on the list will be able to identify the houses? BTW, the Sheldon house, is John Sheldon's 1658 to 1734?
