Information on 2004 Deerfield Descendant Reunions hosted by Historic Deerfield: In order to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the 1704 French and Indian raid on Deerfield, we have chosen 3 weekends next year for Deerfield Descendant reunions. The dates are: July 16-18 August 13-15 and Labor Day weekend, September 3-5 These weekends are designed to help you connect with other descendants from around the country as well as provide ample opportunities for you to learn about your ancestry. There will be guided and self-guided walking tours of the burial ground and other 1704 sites, lectures and discussions, a special 1704 exhibition in our main gallery, re-enactors from the Society of the 17th Century will be in town showing daily life of that time, genealogy workshops in the library, and a descendants "marketplace" where family associations or individuals can meet with other descendants. There will be special activities for families with children each of those weekends as well as a dinner and cocktail party. We are currently working on a Deerfield Descendants website that will provide more information and enable you to register for the reunions. We will have the website completed by mid-December and will provide you with a link to the site at that time. We would love to learn more about you so please visit our descendants survey at the Historic Deerfield website: www.historic-deerfield.org/descendants/survey.html.
