He was a Deacon in the Congregational Church at Washington for more than fifty years, Clerk of that town for twelve years, Justice of the Peace for 46 years and also represented the town one year in the Vermont Legislature. Dea. Jacob BLISS and Abigail POST were married on 2 NOV 1796 in Preston, New London, Connecticut. 13. Abigail POST was born on 9 SEP 1781 in Hebron, Tolland, Connecticut. She died on 30 JAN 1850 in Washington, Orange, Vermont.
