I have looked through newspapers for early Ashfield marriages, and there was no mention of their marriage that I saw. However, by census data it appears that Joseph and Emily James lived in West Troy, New York all their lives, so I suggest looking for death records in West Troy if you have not done so already. Census data say that Joseph James was born abour 1811 in Rhode Island and Emily was born about 1812 in MA. Joseph was alive in 1860, but not in the census of 1870 and Emily was alive in 1880, but not in the 1900 census. Hope this helps. Carol
