The set of CDs with Mass vital recoreds for Franklin County has the Orange VRs. Do note, that the early records are problematical. Orange was a district until 1810, and therefore was not required to keep these records, the original towns were. You can find Orange VR before 1810, in Athol, Warwick, and Royalston. However, the Town Clerk had families record their births, however the birthplace was not noted. If some of the children were born elsewhere, all were recorded as from Orange. The records are a challenge. The best thing is to find the origin of the family, and check those town records as well. Published by Holbrook Research Institute, 1983. This is tough work in this format as they are either transcripts or copies of the originals, and only later period is indexed. They are just starting to get these on CD. http://www.archivepublishing.com/biblio_ma_o/biblio_orange.htm Not sure who has these aside from NEHGS.
