    2. Since Elizabeth or Bettie (as some say one document calls her) Oldham is not mentioned in this will, one has to assume she is deceased. More research of the Madison Co., KY records, particularly of land records, needs to be conducted. [Commas which appear after each man's name, except the last, have been omitted.] Jesse's will is recorded in Will Bk B-38, 1814, Madison Co., KY. It reads as follows: In the name of God amen I Jesse Oldham of Madison County & State of Kentucky Being in my perfect senses do make and ordain this my last will and testament first I give and bequeath my soal [sic] to almighty God that gave it and my body to be bured by my Executor in a Christian like manner and as trusting such worldy goods as it hath pleased God to bless and endow me with I give and dispose of in the manner and form following. Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Amy Burton one Shilling Stearling [sic] and no more, Item I give and bequeath unto my son Richard Oldham one shilling stearling and no more Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Anna Harris one shilling stearling and no more, Item I give and bequeath unto my son Tyre Oldham one shilling stearling and no more, Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Frances Oldham one shilling stearling and no more, Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sally Burton one shilling sterling and no more------[next page] My will and desire is that Jesse Oldham, Elias Oldham, Eady Oldham, Nathaniel Oldham, John K. Oldham those five last mentioned children shall have all the residue of my estate to be Equally Devided amongst them boath real & personal estate is my will.---- Lastly, I appoint my son Jesse Oldham and my son Nathaniel Oldham my hole soal [?] Executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand & Seal this 28th day of January 1814 Signed & Sealed in the presence of us. NB the word (to be) was interlined before signed. [Clerk Madison Co. court] Comment: The Halley family can be found in records of Fairfax Co., VA and perhaps earlier Northern Neck Virginia counties. Comment: If anyone has knowledge of this Daniel Williams, will they please share with the Madison Co. KY list or with the Caswell Co., NC list?
