William Thomas ELLINGTON (b ca 1786) & Frances W. MILLS were my 3g-grandparents, having married 1809, Rockingham Co, NC: "State of NC Marriage Bonds" NC Div of Archives and History, 1977 Raleigh, NC William T Ellington Fanny Mills Bond Date: 20 Sep 1809 Bondsman: Joshua Lillard Witness: Russell Dance The "Madison Co, KY Marriage Records" show the following, which I believe to be their children...each record shows the name of William T Ellington as giving permission for marriage: Betsy ELLINGTON m John Hopper, 1826 Susannah ELLINGTON m Spear JOLLY, 1831 Martha ELLINGTON m Arrington HICKERSON, 1834 Samira ELLINGTON m William HICKERSON, 1836 William ELLINGTON m Polly TAYLOR, 1837 (William & Semira HICKERSON were my 2g-grandparents)... William & Fanny ELLINGTON are shown on 1850 Madison Co, KY census, living next door to Spear & Susan JOLLY (& children), w no children left in their hh.... By 1860, all of the above children had migrated to Adams Co, IL, except for Betty & John HOPPER...and Fanny ELLINGTON seems to have died soon after the 1850 census, since Wm re-married, 1853, to Mrs Polly WARD... "Madison County, Kentucky Marriage Records" William T. Ellington - Age 66 - Born in Pittsylvania Co. Va.- Widower Married : March 26, 1853 - Madison Co KY Polly Ward - Age 48 - Widow Bond By : John White By the 1870, Mary (Ward) ELLINGTON is shown without William on the census, so I assume that William was deceased... I believe that William ELLINGTONarrived in Madison Co, KY by 1830, having migrated from NC... Would love to connect with any descendants of this line or the associated lines..thanx so much! Suzy
