A most helpful site taken from Ancestry Daily News, a website mentioned by Geo. Morgan in his article, "There's Been A Citing". Citation Machine, created by David Warlick of The Landmark Project (http://www.landmark-project.com/citation_machine/index.php ). Simply click on the type of print or electronic resource, located on the left side of the screen, that you want to cite and proceed to fill in the blanks. Voila! You get an instant citation that you can copy and paste into a word processor or genealogy database. Although you still might have to tweak the style a bit to include things such as personal titles (i.e., Rev.) and postnominals (i.e., Ph.D.) and add information regarding repository, it's a great way to quickly generate a quick citation in a pinch. Also be aware that formatting such as underlining and italics may not always transfer to your target software.
