Earlier I wrote of two Oldham grooms who appear in marriages of early Madison Co., KY. One of the Oldham grooms married a Todd bride. Furhter investigation gives this information about a James Oldham of Madison Co. Samuel Watson, groom; Polly Todd, bride; 7 Nov 1808; James Oldham, bondsman; James Oldham, OAB [oath giving bride's age] return 10 Nov 1808 (This information was adapted from Bill and Kathy Vockery, Madison County Kentucky Marriage Records, v'ol. I, 1786-1822 [Richmond, KY: Published by authors, 1993], p. 86) Possibly more research of the activities of the Todd and Watson families, such as on what watercourse they lived in Madison Co., will provide clues. (My, there are LOTS of Todd grooms listed in Vockery & Vockery.) **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products.
