Sander, John Estes is not my direct line but did marry 2nd Susannah Kelly in 1803 in Madison Co, Ky. John was married to Elizabeth Barker, should this be Baker? Elizabeth and John married July 5, 1798. John's father could be Elisha Estes and wife Mary Stone. Mary had previous marriage to Benjamin Townsend. John Estes did go to Franklin Co, Tenn for awhile and then on to Missouri. I have his daughter by first wife as Mary who married Archibald Woods. I have John born 1771 in Lunenburg Co, Va and died 2 April 1841, Morgan Co, Mo. John helped organize the Freedom Bapt Church in Morgan County. I have all his children listed. I have a picture of John and Susannah Kelly Estes. I can put you in contact with a direct descendant if you want. Was Archibald and Green the same person? I don't know anything about Archibald, but Mary Estes married Green born 1803 Madison county KY. Green died 1843 Cooper county MO. They had a son named John Estes woods who is our ancestor. Peter and Jael Woods had the following children: Andrew, Susanna, Abigail, Peter jr., Frances, Charles who is in Cooper County, Kelly township wife Susan, Charles born Ky and shows on 1850 census, Levi on the 1850 Moniteau County with wife Sarah, Alexander wife Racha Cooper County, Green 1830 Cooper County shows Wm. Woods, Charles, John Estes living between Charle Woods and David Johnson, David married into my James Kelly family, next page is Archibald Woods. 1840 Cooper Co, Mo Green Woods six houses down from another Kelly and Charles Woods. Now the Mary Woods in 1850 Moniteau Co, Mo is 52 years old and has a son born 1843 named Green, he was age 7. When was your John Estes Woods born? Who did he marry? Since this is your line, what do you know about John Estes and first wife? The reason why I am so interested is my James Kelly appears everywhere these people do. Perhaps you have seen my James Kelly in records with your Woods. I have one record in Franklin Co, Tenn. (Franklin Co, Tenn will book 1808-1810, Andrew Woods and his wife Hannah. My James Kelly was a Revolutionary soldier and enlisted in Greenbrier Co, Va under Capt Archibald Woods. My James Kelly was born in Ireland in 1756, I can't find any other Kelly's that seem to fit with him, thought he may have already known all these people who he follows around. Names are Woods, Wallace, Estill, Campbell, Handley, Hartley White who I know was in Madison Co, Ky. James Kelly married Nancy Caperton, her parents were John and Polly (Thompson) Caperton., she was a sister to Hugh and Adam Caperton. Will be looking for your reply.
