Looking for help in the following connection of Berry, Owens, Crews. Thomas J. Berry married Malone Owens on 24 Feb 1835 in Madison Co., KY. Mother of the bride is listed as Bartha Crews. In a land deed her name is spelled Barthena Crews. Thomas J. Berry and Malone had one known child Thomas J. Berry born 26 June 1836 in Madison Co., KY. Their son married Mary Adaline Simmons 11 August 1857. Can anyone help with whether Malone Ownes was married before therefore the last name Owens or was her mother Barthena Crews married before to an Owens? A John Owens is listed in later deeds of Thomas J. Berry Jr. and Mary A. as heirs of John Owens. Also one of Thomas J. Berry Jr. and Mary A. land deeds lists Thomas J. Berry Jr. as the grandson of Barthena Crews. He is living with his grandmother in the 1850 Federal Census in Madison Co., KY.
