Bud, The only connection I have to the Wests is through James Kennedy's 2nd marriage to Mary West. [14 Nov 1842, James Kennedy granted Tract and Personality to Mary West [Madison County Marriage Contract -1-149]. James Kennedy, 67, and Mary West, 47, were married 15 Nov 1842 [Madison County Marriages BK 3W-34]. Somewhere, stashed away, I have copies of information I acquired just out of curiosity. I think Mary West was a daughter of Jonathan West - because of will or property transfer???? I THINK THERE ARE SEVERAL WEST RESEARCHERS ON THIS LIST AND MAYBE ONE OF THEM WILL JUMP IN WITH DETAILS. Because Mary was born about 1795, she would have been born during his first marriage to Patience Sapp, m. 9 Sep. 1793. I don't believe she was married before her marriage to James. Her children all used last name of West. (Just now, glancing through one of the marriage books, I see that Littleton West's daughter Mary married John Woods, 17 Dec 1814. And I see his marriage to your Sarah Lee. You have all that basic info, don't you?) The census taker, in 1850, Madison Co., Dist. 1 lists both Mary and James as Canada, however it is clearly a mistake of spelling because Mary is shown with her son William and James is shown next door with Mary's daughter Angeline and her husband George Anderson.
