    1. [MADKY] Another Important Source for Researcher of Early Kentucky Inhabitants
    2. Besides the early land grants in Kentucky, compiled by Jillson, in books with VERY SMALL print, I have found the transcriptions of Michael L. Cook and his wife Bettie C. Cook of Evansville, IN of Kentucky court records, etc. to be helpful in locating when and where our *missing* ancestors may have been. (Some years ago Family Tree Maker issued a CD #650 of *Land Records: Kentucky, 1774-1924* which includes several of Jillson's books plus some taxpayer lists. I do not remember the counties which had the tax lists. The ISBN for the CD 1-57944-182-3. I hope you can find it still on the market. It is very searchable.) You can find a list of these books by doing an author search on the Family HIstory Library Catalog at _www.familysearch.org_ (http://www.familysearch.org) Be sure to use Michael L. Cook's middle initial. If you cannot find Michael Cook's books in your favorite genealogical library, get together with your local reference librarian and see what you can work out for Interlibrary Loan -- ILL for those who know the lingo!!! I used to live in a rural community, and, even though I knew a good many books could be borrowed from a branch of my State library, the librarian tried to persuade me to use some other library. This was before the days of the internet. I think she was NOT a trained librarian, but she was in charge of ILL! (I hope you have better luck!)
