Harris Decd whereupon the said Sidney M. Harris took the necessary oaths as such and entered into and acknowledged his bond in the personalty of $4,000 (?) with Walter [probably Waller] Chenault & John Smith his securities as the law [directs?] [Here it] is further ordered that John Smith Anderson Chenault Thomas Richardson & John Biggerstaff or any three of them who being [first sworn] [incomplete transcription; faded ink did not photograph well] Comments: Overton C. Harris, son of Overton Harris and his wife Nancy Oldham, has been reported as dying at age 17. Sidney W. Harris is his older brother. Anderson Chenault, a widower, mentioned in the court order book, had married by 1837 the widowed Nancy Oldham Harris. Waller Chenault was to marry ca Oct 1833 a sister of Overton C. Harris and Sidney W. Harris--Talitha Harris. His relationship to Anderson Chenault is unknown.
