Richard, I don't know if you received a response to your inquiry: Please give me driving directions from Lexington to the "Lisle Cemetery near Boonesborough." Is it open to the public? "Cemetery Records of Madison County" Vol 1, Northern Section, shows on Pg 38 regarding Cem. B-04, Lisle Cemetery: Maintained. Has field stone fence on three sides. Several stones down. Many field stones. On West side of Hwy. 388 about .3 mile south of the entrance to Ft. Boonesborough State Park. Hope this helps, Jay

Just finished entering the fifth Henderson Wheeler in my database. They are: #1: Henderson Wheeler s/o Rev. Benjamin and Susannah "Sukie" [Harris] Wheeler; d.o.b., marriage, etc. unknown. #2: Henderson Wheeler s/o James and Sarah "Sally" [Lowery] Wheeler; m. to Elizabeth Ann Harris on 9-2-1855 in Garrard County, KY. #3: Henderson Wheeler s/o William and Samantha Ann [Hill] Wheeler; m. to Nancy Ellen Long on 2-4-1868 in Madison County, KY. #4: Henderson Wheeler s/o James and Louisa [Warren] Wheeler; d.o.b., marriage, etc. unknown. #5: Henderson Wheeler (parents unknown) m. to Amanda Timberlake on 12-25-1832 in Madison County, KY. My mystery is with #3---another researcher provided mw with the parents names of this Henderson. I have been unable to prove who William's parents were, although there is speculation they may have been John and Mary [Lair] Wheeler. I also wonder if I may have duplicated a Henderson because of a second marriage or the possibility of moving between Garrard and Madison across Paint Lick Creek and showing up on different census' in different decades. Does anyone have any additional information on any of these these folks? Any help greatly appreciated!! Gary W. Help me identify this Edward Harris. He MUST be a member of the Robert Harris/Mourning Glen family, but I have no further clues. Do you? Please share. Buck's Elbow is shown on present day maps in Albemarle Co., VA. This is from Mrs. Davis's work on Fredericksville Parish, which covered, she says all of Louisa Co. until about 1762. Maupin and McCord and Rhoads/Rodes family members intermarried with the extended Harris family of Louisa Co. and of later Albemarle Co. and still later, of Madison Co., KY. Submitted by E.W.Wallace "At a Vestry held for Fredericksville Parish 24th day of Octrober 1759 Present: Rev. Mr. Maury, Abra. Venable, Robt. Lewis, Thos. Paulet, Davd. Mills, Robt. Anderson, Robt. Looking for the descendants of John Bassett that came to Garrard County in the latter 1790's with his brother Abner. In the census of 1820 he was living in Garrard County, in 1830 he was living in Madison County. In both census there were males living in the house hold that were likely his sons, any information would be appreciated. Thanks Charles Bassett

I am looking for the parent of Benjamin Franklin Harris who married Barbara Sutton 1952 in Platte CO MO. He died in 1857 in Buchanan CO. MO. His two children John Franklin Harris b 1855 and Missouri Bell Harris b abt 1857, in 1876 sued their step father John T. Foster, for their inheritance from "Jane Harris, B.F. Harris, Wiley, and Abner Harris of Madison CO. KY deceased". It was given to him when they were minors as he was their guardian. I think Abner may be a mistake as I found in the 1860 Census of Madison CO. KY. a Jane 75, ALBERT 50 and Wiley 44. I think Jane may have been Benjamin F. Harris 's mother. Does anyone know who his father might be?. Eleanor Homewood
Ira, thank you for this information, Would anyone know the parents of John Harrison Miller??? Was he a brother to Julia Miller who married William Green Miller? Whats bothering me is that John and Thomas Miller were among the founders of THe Union City Baptist Church in 1812 along with Jimmy Estill Miller. The church records spell John and Thomas' last name as Millar and the wife of Thomas as Patience West Miller. It seems to me that JOhn and THomas would be related to Jimmy Estill Miller, but I have never found the link. Can anyone help me this?? D E Miller Ira L. Harris III Evansville, Indiana Response: I am going to take a wild guess as to the identity of Harris Craig. Unfortunately, I do not have as many books on Madison Co., KY as I should like. This marriage was recorded in Madison Co., KY in 1865 (after the Civil War) Craig, William, mercant, 2nd mar, born & resides in Lincoln Co., 29 [age]; mar Oct 9 65 [1865] to: Harris, Callie, 23. Bnd: Hughes, J. S. Bk 8-207 (From Bill & Kathy Vockery, Madison County Kentucky Marriage Records, Vol III, 1852-1876 [Cross referenced with Vital Statistics] [Richmond, KY: Published by authors, 1995], p. 16) Comment: I have no idea of the parentage of Callie Harris. Because she is age 23, she is of age and she did not require consent of parent to marry. Perhaps a search of Harrises in 1850 or 1860 census may reveal her parents. Is she sister of Edney [Edna] nee Harris? Any other clues to identity of young Harris Craig, nephew? E.W.Wallace
