Hi there Andrea, Here's the Dohertys I have on the list- not too many, actually. Edward, ED130, sheet 14a Elizabeth, ED115, sheet 4b (I have a note on ED 155 that says the writing is small, so be warned!) James A., ED119, sheet 2a Mary, ED 135, sheet 2a Mary J., ED101, sheet 23a Michael, ED152, sheet 6b Thomas, ED126, sheet 18a Ann, ED157 (almshouse), sheet 1b and finally, Dougherty, Mary, ED86, sheet 10a Maybe one of them will provide a clue for you. Where did your Dohertys come from before New Bedford? My husband's family is Doherty, and they came from Providence, Rhode Island, and before that Ireland. I'm still chasing down Doherty relatives of his, so maybe your Dohertys are somehow related.
