    3. Jeannine, Try this for information about the MA State Archives. http://www.state.ma.us/sec/arc/arcidx.htm I just obtained the death records for my gt. gt. grandparents from the State Archives. Ordering them directly from the towns involved would have been a little faster but the cost would have been $7.00 for each certified copy. By ordering from the Archives, the total cost was $7.00 for two certified copies and microfilm prints of the original records. I have ordered records with just a name and approximate year of death-they do a fantastic job at the Archives, always very helpful. Marcia

    3. I am in need of assistance from someone in Bristol County who would be willing to look for a will or probate record. I would be willing to pay for this service. Sarah Bryant b. abt 1728 in Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA married Francis Cook on Sept 24, 1750 in Bridgewater. They had a daughter Ruth, b.1751. Francis Cook died aft. 1762 and Sarah Bryant Cook married Dea. Ebenezer Phillilps on Jan 17, 1765 in Easton, Bristol Co., MA. Rufus Smith b. Easton, Bristol co., MA 1750, married Ruth Cook in Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA Nov 3, 1770. Their daughter, Joanna Smith, was b. Easton, Bristol Co., MA in1782. To date, I have been unable to prove that the Ruth Cook who married Rufus Smith is in fact the same Ruth Cook born to Sarah Bryant and Francis Cook. It has been suggested to me that I search for a will or probate record for Sarah Bryant Cook and Deacon Ebenezer Philllips to see if Ruth Cook Smith is named . If anyone is willing to perform this search for me, please contact me off list, or if you know a professional genealogist in the area who might help, please inform me of that person's name and how to contact them. Thank you so much. Betty Hadley White

    3. Hi Betty: Not sure if this will be helpful or not, Found the following in the Easton Town Records: Page 59: Lists children of Ebenezer Phillips & 1st wife, Susanah, and children with 2nd wife, Sarah. Typed exactly as it appears in the record. ******************************************************** Isaac Phillips son to Ebenezer Phillips born of his wife Sarah May 2nd 1766. Abiel Phillips son to Ebenezer Phillips born of his wife Sarah Apriel 14th 1768 Calip Phillips son to Ebenezer Phillips born of his wife Sarah July 27th 1772. Recorded by Matthew Hayward Town Clerk Lewis Phillips son to Ebenezer Phillips born of his wife Sarah October the 25th 1774 *********************************************************** There is a marriage listed for Ebenezer on page 42 to first wife Susanah Manly, and another marriage listed on page 85 to I believe Sarah Cook, they are both listed in the index on that page. I'll be happy to obtain copies of these pages for you, just let me know. There is also a listing for Rufus Smith's family that I can copy as well.
