    3. Carol, I have only found my James Butler in 1900 census, living with wife & M-I-L. There I found his natinality (origin of birth) & that he was NOT a citizen. I did not find any of them in 1910 or 1920 census. I am not sure why, but perhaps as I already knew DOD on James' wife (Susan Estabrook Crowell), who was my paternal grandmother's mother & that James is my Gram's step father and so did not look so hard. I was just more curious as to when & how he got to US, than I was in where he ended up.... I guess what it comes down to is that I need to get to census office again for next few counts to try & track him - then work backwards Thanks for your help.
