Greetings, I'm wondering if someone might have a subscription to NEHGS and could do a lookup in 19th century Massachusetts vital records (after 1850). Specifically, I'm trying to find out if there is a marriage record from the 1850s (most likely the second half of the decade) for a Martin King and Martha Redmond (or Mary Martha Redmond, or Martha something-else). For some time I have proceeded under the assumption that my 3rd great-grandfather (who was born in Pugwash NS about 1834-35) married his wife Martha (whose maiden name we believed to be Redmond, and her father Irish Protestant immigrant Andrew Redmond) in Nova Scotia and had come to Bristol County Mass (Attleboro or North Attleboro) in the later 1850s. I now have a subscription to ancestry.com though and just learned that (according to the 1910 census) Andrew immigrated to the US from Canada in 1842, and Martha in 1856. While I'm still inclined to think that Martha's maiden name was Redmond (given the interconnectedness of the King and Redmond families [both of whom had come from Nova Scotia]) I'm trying to determine if there is a marriage record for Martin and Martha King in Bristol County Mass (or thereabouts) from the second half of the 1850s. As I said Martin was born about 1834 and Martha about 1837 (both in Canada). Thanks for any help you might be able to provide. If you'd like I can do an ancestry.com lookup for you (I don't believe vital records from the second half of the 19th century for this area are in the ancestry database).
